D. Eiche Firestone Service sits the southwest corner of 12th and N Streets, Lincoln. Multi-paned windows and glass garage doors make up most of the walls of the building that has a wide overhang on two sides. Four gas pumps sit on each of two islands located on both sides of the building. Saint Paul Methodist Church can be seen behind the service station. Situated close to the crosswalk are a street lamp, water fountain, and fire hydrant. Tracks and overhead electrical lines for street cars run down the middle of the street.
According to Polk's City Directory of Lincoln, 1939, Dee Eiche owned D. Eiche Firestone Service which "provided Firestone tires, batteries and automobile supplies, brake service, tire service and motor tune up service." This lot previously contained H. Herpolsheimer Company, a department store that had been in business at this location since 1890. St. Paul Methodist Church is still located at 1144 M Street.
