Street level view of a three-story brick building with cloth canopies over some of the windows located on the northwest corner of 14th and P Streets in Lincoln. The Lincoln School of Commerce occupies the two upper levels. On the ground level on the P Street side, one storefront is occupied by Columbia Glass & Paint Company, while on the 14th Street side a shoe shop and Varsity Cleaners occupy two of the shop spaces to the rear. Behind the building and across an alley, two more buildings house Able Cleaners, a cafe and HC Sinclair Gasoline. A traffic light strung over the intersection sports a sign on top reading: "No U-turn." Utility poles and street lights line the sidewalk and a mailbox sits on the corner.
This corner building (built in 1933) and the one to the left (built in 1918) still stand today (2010); the one on the corner is now occupied by Cornerstone Printing & Imaging, and a current view may be seen at http://goo.gl/maps/ftwv. According to Polk's Lincoln City Directory, 1925, Lincoln School of Commerce formed from the consolidation of the Lincoln Business College and Nebraska School of Business. William A. Robbins was president in 1925 and, according to a sign on the side of the building, continued in that capacity at the time of the photograph.
