A single-seat vehicle with a metal body and metal wheels sits in the middle of a brick street. The light-colored brick building in the background, 237 S. 9th Street, was the residence of George F. and Ida Hodges. The multi-story brick building next to it appears to be vacant. The third building to the right houses Ress Machine and Motor Shop at 221-223 S. 9th Street.
According to Polk's City Directory of Lincoln, 1914, Ress Machine and Motor Shop was owned by William N. Ress. George F. and Elmer Hodges were the owners of the grocery store, G.F. Hodges & Son, located at 213 S. 9th Street. This photograph was taken for M.H. Miller.
