The residence of Henry Yates stands at 3120 Davenport Street in Omaha, Nebraska, in this black and white lantern slide. The house is a large stone building with a turret on the corner and an archway over the front door. A set of stone steps runs from the sidewalk to the entrance. There are some trees and bushes with bare branches in front of the house. A short fence runs along the edge of the front yard, next to the sidewalk. There is a fire hydrant in front of the house. Other houses can be seen in the background.
Henry Yates served as president of Nebraska National Bank. Construction on his home started in 1887 and took two years. In 1915, after Yates had died, part of the property was sold and Yates Elementary School was constructed. The house was razed in 1944. Source: Spencer, Jeffrey S.
