The house of Dr. Enos Lowe, located on the southwest corner of 16th and Harney Streets, stands at the top of a man-made bank of dirt in this black and white lantern slide. The house, which has a cross-gabled roof and many windows, is waiting to be moved during a project to lower the level of Omaha's streets. In the foreground, Mancuso Fruit, Nuts and Candy sits at the new, lower street level. Boyd's Theatre, a large brick building, can be seen in the background.
Enos Lowe was a doctor and politician. He was an organizer of the Council Bluffs and Nebraska Ferry Company, and he was a founder of Omaha's Old Settlers Association.
