Academic excellence has always been the goal of Omaha Central High School. Students had many avenues in which to pursue achievement. These military cadets from Central High illustrate one of these options. In 1912 there were nine companies at Central High averaging 50 men per company, thirty five in the band, besides the bugle corps for approximately 570 total boys participating. In early June they held an encampment for one week with all members participating in drills. Source: Central High School (Omaha, Nebraska). The Register: Nineteen Hundred Twelve Annual. Omaha: 1912.
