Historical notes
In 1996, Omaha actors John Beasley and Elaine Jabenis starred in the Omaha Community Playhouse presentation of "Driving Miss Daisy." During the run of performances, John Beasley was called out of town to audition for a part in the movie, "The Apostle" starring Robert Duvall. The Omaha Community Playhouse cancelled the show for one night so that he could go to Georgia for the audition. He won the part, and has since become famous for roles in television series and movies.
