Historical Information
In the early 1900s Nebraska Wesleyan University had accumulated considerable debt. The "$100,000" was a celebration of the first permanent endowment for Nebraska Wesleyan University, $25,000 of which was pledged by steel baron Andrew Carnegie. Dewitt Clinton Huntington was the driving force behind the endowment during his tenure as the third Chancellor of Nebraska Wesleyan University from 1898-1908.
