The Plumfield Nurseries at 2105 Nye Avenue is easily identified by a large sign painted on the side wall of a small wood and frame building. The sign reads: "Plumfield Nurseries, Fremont, Nebr., Landscape Specialists, Full Line of Fruit and Ornamental Plantings, Agents Wanted, Write for catalog." The scene is dominated by the long, blank stucco wall of the main building. Its monotony is broken only by sky lights and a ventilation cupola seen on the roof top. Plantings in the foreground include canna lily beds, hedge rows and a neatly clipped lawn. A stump remains from a recently cut down tree and seems out of place in this rather plain view.
