4 X 6 inch black and white photograph of the Barr C.B.&Q. Railroad Depot being pushed on the tracks by a steam engine and headed for its final resting place east of Denver. Five railroad employees pose in front of the new building and one in the cab of the steam engine.
Barr was originally named Carr, Colorado. It was also the place where the track crews of the Burlington Railroad building toward to the west met those Burlington track crews laying track heading east. In 1906, the Barr Lake Reservoir was created and the station was moved a mile to the west. Everett Sutton, Sr. was station master at that time. This photograph was part of his son's collection and may have been taken by him.
