In Sidney, Nebraska, two gas pumps stand in front of the Lone Pine Station on which they advertise "Now while you wait, drain and refill, new Opaline" "Free Air" and "Showers." Behind the station and to the right there are cabins "with stoves." The front cabin on the right advertises to "Stop here and camp." Young trees are planted in a line between the cabins. Cars are parked between each cabin on the right and people stand or sit in front of some cabins. The Lincoln Highway, still a dirt road, runs across the front of this 10" X 8" black and white photograph.
One of the first camping courts in Sidney, Nebraska, the name Lone Pine Court came from the one lone pine growing just east of the photograph. The police department is now located at this address.
