Historical Notes
David W. Hamilton, son of J. R. and J. A. Warner Hamilton, was born December 19, 1858, in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. As a young man, David came to Butler County. He purchased 120 acres of land for twelve hundred dollars in Union Township in 1880. He married Sarah Stafford in David City, March 6, 1882. They raised five daughters. David farmed and was in the House of Representatives for Millerton and Rising City, serving in 1897 and 1901. They moved to Naper, Boyd County, Nebraska, where David died June 26, 1907.
