Historical Notes
Frank J. Zeman was born in Bohemia in 1869 and immigrated with his parents to Franklin County, Iowa, when he was six months of age. After graduating from high school at Iowa Falls in 1891, he immediately began teaching school. He came to Nebraska and taught in Dodge County before being appointed principal of the Bruno, Nebraska, schools 1895-1902. He married Agnes Rerucha in Bruno, Nebraska, May 19, 1897. They raised three children: Adrian, Vivian and Raymond. Frank became president of the Bruno State Bank then sold his bank shares prior to 1920 and moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked as an Insurance agent. According to the 1930 census, Frank and Agnes were living in Long Beach City, California, where Frank was a real estate broker.
