The groom is wearing a mustache, dark three-piece suit, boutonniere with ribbon pinned to his lapel, white shirt with stiff wing collar and white bow tie, sitting on a wicker bench. The bride is sitting in a chair beside him wearing a white floor-length, long-sleeve dress and floor-length tulle veil with headpiece of small white flowers. Standing behind them are Jake Remakel, best man, and Caroline Meysenburg, maid of honor. The best man is wearing a dark, three-piece suit with a boutonniere with ribbons attached to the lapel, white shirt with stiff wing collar, white bow tie, a watch chain and medallion hanging from his vest buttonhole. Historical Notes |
Nicholas Remakel was born in Luxemburg, March 15, 1875. He immigrated to the United States in March 1893. He married Margaret Meysenburg, October 30, 1900, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, Nebraska. Margaret Meysenburg Remakel was born February 15, 1878, in Bellwood, to P.N. and Barbara Dehner Meysenburg. Margaret and Nick had no children. Margaret died January 4, 1963, and Nick died March 22, 1955, they are both buried in Presentation & St. Peter's Cemetery in Bellwood, Nebraska. |
