Elizabeth is wearing wire-rimmed glasses and dark, long sleeve dress with scalloped, asymmetrically placed bodice placket with four rows of dark braid following the curved placket and dark braid trim on the shoulder areas with dark net covering the fabric of the upper bodice and stiff, high-stand collar.

Historical Notes
Charles Griffeth Bemis was born in Pennsylvania, August 11, 1851. Charles married Emma Henderson (born 1852, died 1880) in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1873. He married his second wife, Ella (Mary Ellen Henderson, born July 11, 1860), in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1881. They had two sons there, Glenn Henry and Rolla George (born 1884, he married Edith Davies). In 1886, Charles, Ella and the two boys left Erie, Pennsylvania for Nebraska, where, in December, they purchased a farm three miles west of Rising City. A daughter, Nina, was born there; she married Walter Pool. Ella died December 2, 1890 and was buried in the Circle Mound Cemetery. Charles married Elizabeth Dickerson Greene (pictured here) in 1899. Elizabeth had two children by her first marriage: Harley and Iva. Charles died July 11, 1911, and Elizabeth in 1921; both are buried in the Circle Mound Cemetery.
