Historical Notes
One of the pioneers of Bellwood, Nebraska, Henry Jacob arrived in Bellwood with his parents, Carl and Francisca Zimmer Jacob from Irmsdorf, Austria, March 23, 1878, at the age of eight. He enlisted in the U. S. Infantry April 26, 1897, serving in the Philippine Islands during the Spanish American War in Company E, Nebraska. After being discharged he returned to Bellwood and married Nellie Hoshor. They raised four children in Bellwood. Henry died January 4, 1937.
