Historical Notes
Marvin and Raymond Murphy were the children of Michael and Margaret Murphy. Marvin was born May 21, 1896, in David City, Nebraska. He attended David City High School, where he graduated in 1913. He married Eunice Noerrlilinger, June 29, 1926. Marvin was a veteran of World War I having served with the 314th ammunition train of the 89th Division in France & Germany. After WWI, Marvin and his wife lived in David City, raised five children and Marvin worked in the plumbing business with his father. He also served as chief of the David City Fire Department. Marvin died June 21, 1945, and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, David City. Raymond Murphy was born December 2, 1899. He lived at home with his parents and worked as a bookkeeper and salesman for his father until at least 1930. He died January, 1978, in Lakewood, Colorado.
