This 9-1/2" x 3-1/2" black and white photograph shows a wide angle view of a three-story brick school building. Students are gathered in a large crowd on the steps of the building and across the lawn.
Whittier Junior High School was located at 22nd and Vine Streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. The building was built in 1923 and used until 1977 as a junior high school. It was then used as an alternative high school until 1980. Whittier School was named for the American poet, John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892).
