Description	1960 Supplement No. 1 to Aerial Plat Book of Omaha, Nebraska with photos taken November, 1960 published by Miller Photo Lab. (Aerial Plat Book of Omaha was published in 1958.) Scale on photos (1 inch = 200 feet). Plat book consists of title page, index and 53 pages of aerial photos with accompanying plat maps (43.5 x 55 cm.). Information from title page indicates the lithos were by Wurgler Company, Inc., plats courtesy of (Omaha) City Planning. Miller Photo Lab reference numbers are 342-0337. The index has a map of Omaha which shows street names and the dividing Range and Township lines creating townships consisting of 36 Sections. Section numbers are shown in hexagons. The smaller numbers surrounding the hexagons are the page numbers. On the left side of the index map is a list of the pages that are in this supplement. Each of the following pages has an aerial photo of the specific area accompanied by a corresponding plat map. In the lower right corner of each page is printed the geographic location by section, township, range and below it the page number. The pages are in fragile condition, many with tears that have been taped.

Source	These images were scanned by the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center, Omaha, Nebraska, from 4 x 5 inch color transparencies taken by Larry Ferguson Studio, Omaha, Nebraska.
Historical Notes	The Miller Photo Lab was established in 1947 by J. (James) Gordon Miller. He was born in Omaha October 21, 1915, and graduated from Omaha South High School. He worked as a darkroom assistant in Whittier, California, and during World War II was trained as an Army photographer in the Signal Corps. The Lab provided aerial, industrial, agricultural, livestock and ranching photographic services to local individuals, business, organizations, and government agencies. He closed Miller Photo Lab in the late 1980s and moved his family to the Corvallis-McMinnville, Oregon area. He enrolled in Oregon State University and earned a degree in Botany. He photographed and cataloged wild flowers, and, before his death on April 28, 2003, he donated his entire flora collection of thousands of colored slides to the Botany Department at Oregon State.
