Nebraska State Capitol Building, construction at the front
Description
Scaffolding surrounds the second-story front entrance of the third Nebraska State Capitol Building. The outer perimeter of the building is still under construction.
The Nebraska State Capitol Building is located at 1445 K Street and sits on grounds bounded by S. 14th to S. 16th Streets, and H to K Streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. Construction started on the third capitol building, designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, in 1922 and was completed in 1932. The two and three-story extensions shown here enclose four courtyards. Once this base was completed, the old capitol was torn down and a 400 foot tower was erected in the center.
