A wooden building with a false front stands at the end of a block, next to a dirt street, in this 5 1/4" x 4" black and white photograph. The building has two large windows; they both have the word "Bank" painted on them. On the top of the false front is a sign that reads "Land Office." Six men stand on the wooden sidewalk that runs in front of the bank. They wear dark suits and hats. The rest of the block has more wooden buildings.
The Rising City Bank was chartered in 1882 by Samuel and J.S. Richenbach. It operated until its closure in 1929 and subsequent consolidation with the Farmers State Bank, which was chartered in 1904.
