Historical Notes
Jungmann School was located at 20th and O Streets from 1899 to 1963. Evening classes were conducted in the early 1900s because the packing plants in South Omaha required their employees to have a certain level of education. The main topics taught were English and arithmetic. Many in attendance were the parents of Jungmann students, and they often brought their children with them.
