This wood frame church is the original St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, located in Florence, Nebraska. It was named for the saint who was born in Florence, Italy in 1515. The parish was founded as a mission parish, and this church was built in 1904, north of Grebe Street and west of 31st Street. Before it was built, the closest Catholic churches were in Blair, a mission church in Calhoun, and Sacred Heart Church at 22nd and Binney.
