Color postcard (13.5 cm x 8.5 cm) with a view of Miller Park, 2707 Redick Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska, overlooking the lagoon at twilight. The image is very dark , with large clouds in the sky. The title is in the lower right corner of the card.
This 78-acre park was purchased from the Parker heirs via a bond issue in 1891. Miller Park is bounded by Redick and Kansas Avenues on the north and south and 24th and 30th Streets on the east and west. The lake, artesian well, fountain and landscaping helped make Miller Park a jewel among the city's parks. The park still has a fine golf course and pavilion. Miller Park is named for Dr. George L. Miller, first president of the Board of Park Commissioners. Source: Wakeley, Arthur. Omaha: The Gate City and Douglas County Nebraska, Chicago: S. J. Clarke Publishing Company, c1917, p. 161.
