The view in this 5-1/2" x 3-3/8" colorized postcard shows businesses along Locust Street south from 3rd Street. On the left, halfway down the block a sign advertises Campanella Cigars. In the center of the postcard, the west end (with a blue roof) and tower of the county court house is visible. A sign on the right side of the street identifies a building as "Lyric." Numerous pedestrians are on the sidewalks, one woman with a baby carriage stands in the street with a few men, and several motorcars are the curb. Five-globed street lights line the sidewalk.
The buildings on the closest corners at either side of the postcard still stand today with minor alterations. The courthouse which was built in 1904 is still in use today. Other buildings along the street have been torn down or significantly modified.
