Historical Notes
These buildings were erected in 1916 east of Beatrice. The dairy herd increased from 30 head in 1915 to 37 head in 1916. The herd produced 13,794 gallons of milk in 1915, 16,116 gallons in 1916, and a total of 47 heifers and calves in 1915-1916. The institution also raised other livestock and produced fruits and vegetables to feed the patients.
