Historical Notes
Initially housed in part of a building at the Home for the Friendless in 1905, the Orthopedic Hospital took over the entire building by 1908 and soon added additional wings and buildings. By 1911, all the buildings used by the Home for the Friendless had been turned over to the hospital. The new laundry was build at a cost of $6,000 and housed an Assembly Hall on the upper floor.
