The Wall Theater seems to dominate the foreground of this shot which is actually intended to focus on the August C. Jens Livery Stable. The view is looking toward the east along the north side of Sixth Street. The livery barn is on the corner of Sixth and D Streets. Boldly painted letters on the barn's surface indicate this livery business is operated by "Aug. C. Jens" and his business is a "Livery, Feed, Sale, and Boarding Stable." "Hacks", "Baggage" and "Transit" are other services provided. Double doorways create the entrance and exit for this establishment ornamented with fish scale shingles and scroll-sawn brackets. Also visible are the wood shingle roof and a larger frame barn to the rear. The firm's fleet of twelve, horse-drawn vehicles complete with teams, drivers, and buggy ships proudly line the brick street. The conveyance seen fourth from the left is a white hearse hitched to a team of white horses. It has large brass carriage lamps and the driver wears a top hat. The brick theater building is highly embellished with dentils on the cornice, white tile facing, intricate ornamentation on the overhanging marquis, and dozens of incandescent light bulbs. One bay houses a confectionery business and posters for coming attractions stand on the walk. Two residential buildings are seen on Sixth Street opposite the D Street corner.
