In this 6-1/2" x 4-3/4" black and white photograph of the interior of the Wolford's Mortuary and Furniture Store, there are headboards and mattresses on the left, buffets and cabinets in the center, and chairs and dressers on the left. In the back are large floor rugs and wallpaper. A man sits at a desk in the middle of the furniture, while another man leans against a piece of furniture.
Located on southwest corner of F Street and 6th Avenue, J.C Wolford Mortuary and Furniture Store opened in 1912. J.C.'s son Claude Wolford continued the business from 1944 to 1973. This building had several owners (Opera House, J.B. Brazelton, P.C. Carey, Solomon & Nathan-1883, Chase & Clark-1887, Welch Implement, Noragen Bowling Alley-1904) before becoming Wolford's business.
