Historical Notes
Amelia Krones was born August 7, 1885, in Braunseifen, Austria, and came to the U. S. when she was nine years old. She lived in Columbus, Nebraska, with family friends and attended school. When she was old enough to hire out, she worked as a maid in several different homes. She was working for Nick and Margaret Remakel who lived near Bellwood when Margaret's brother Henry Meysenburg came to visit. Henry Meysenburg and Amelia Krones were married February 6, 1907 in Presentation Catholic Church, Bellwood. They lived on a farm on the southwest edge of David City. They had nine children. Caroline was their second child, born January 24, 1910. She grew up and married Ben Reisdorff of David City. Amelia died September 22, 1952.
