Historical Notes
Frank was born on a farm near Weston, Nebraska in 1890 to Frank E. and Mary Capek Kolar. He attended trade schools in Kansas City, Omaha and the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture. He married Clara Stava of Dwight on April 24, 1917. Frank and Clara moved to a new house which he built on a farm east of his parents and then moved to Dwight in 1919. Frank was an entrepreneur, running his own shelling and threshing crews, trading and farming. In 1915 he started selling Case steam engines and machinery. In 1919 he joined Peter Slosar in the implement business and when Peter retired his brother, John, joined him in the Kolar Brothers Implement business.
