Bishop Francis J. Beckman was born in October 1875 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was ordained as a priest in June1902. In May of 1924, he was consecrated as Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska, and in May of 1930, as Archbishop of Dubuque, Iowa.
