Each truck has a sign printed on the side reading: The Evans, B.6961, Laundry, Cleaning. Signs on the drivers' doors vary, including: "Damp wash, 10 lbs. 39¢, Wed. Thu. Fri." and "Housecleaning Time, Rugs, Drapes, Curtains, Blankets." Each truck also has a number printed on the driver's door; the truck at the right is "5" and the one next to it is "18." A sign between the second and third stories of the light-colored three-story building reads: "Evans Laundry Company." The building to the left houses the March C. Wollen Grocery at 319 N. 12th Street, and a sign projecting from the building advertises "Groceries & Meats.
According to Polk's City Directory of Lincoln, 1936, Edgar C. Westervelt was the general manager of the Evans Laundry Company which provided laundry, cleaning and dyeing services.
