In this black and white photograph, a ravine runs through Elmwood Park, located at 802 S. 60th Street in Omaha, Nebraska. A stream runs along the bottom of the ravine, which is crossed by a bridge in the distance. There are trees with bare branches on both sides of the ravine. Fallen leaves cover the sloping sides of the ravine and float on the water.
Elmwood Park was established in 1890 with land donated by Lyman Richardson and other Omaha citizens. The City of Omaha added more property, and by 1895 the park covered 210 acres. Source: Spencer, Jeffrey. Historic Photos of Omaha. Nashville: Turner Publishing, 2007, p. 118.
