Three children on a chair at the Nebraska Children's Home Society
Description
Two boys and a girl sit on an upholstered chair in this 4" x 6" black and white photograph. The girl wears a floral print dress and sits on one arm of the chair. Her hair is cut very short. She holds onto a doll, which is resting on the seat of the chair. The older of the two boys sits on the other arm of the chair, wearing a patterned shirt and long pants. The younger boy sits on the seat of the chair, next to the doll, wearing a light colored shirt and dark pants. A window, a radiator, and a brick fireplace are visible in the background.
These children were rescued from a chicken coop, their "home." Living in a chicken coop caused health problems, as the little girl in the picture developed threadworms. The children were given medical care and eventually placed for adoption.
