Description	This book, compiled by Henry G. Smith and illustrated by Maud Jorgensen, provides historical information from 1869 to 1906 about Adams County and the town of Hastings which eventually became the county seat. Political shenanigans and lynchings, as well as cultural institutions, city founders, and businesses, are covered. Numerous photographs depict businesses, residences, and other buildings circa 1906.
