Historical Notes
George was born in Nebraska, February 25, 1898, the son of Wilfred and Bertha Gillham. He grew up in David City, Nebraska, and graduated from David City High School in 1915. He married Elizabeth Carlson and they moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where they raised four daughters and George worked as a bookkeeper.
